She's 4 months old and has been to the vet 3 times prior to this last visit and nothing of this sort ever came up. So my question is why now? Why is it that now she thinks she hears a slight murmur? Are there things that can be done to prevent it from getting worse? Lexi is very energetic and always playing with Harely so I'm really worried. Please help me.....Very Worried Mommy here. |
Some pups have a heart murmur that's called an 'innocent' murmur. They outgrow this. It happens in infants as well. My son had it and I was told because if he had a cold or was excited it would be more pronounced. He outgrew it. Since your vet said, 'may be', I would wait on this and not dwell on it. My Peke had no heart murmur until 18 months, (2.6 yrs. now) and then a grade 2, there's no 'may be', it's there. He had a baseline echocardiogram since it was more pronounced at last exam. When he gets over excited now from running his tongue turns blue. I keep him as quiet as possible. He will get worse but right now requires no meds.
