I know with my Abby I take her out as soon as she gets out of her crate in the morning and the afternoon. I also have been taking her out every one to two hours and after she naps, eats or plays for an extended period of time. She has kind of gotten the hang of it. She starts running in circles in front of the door when she wants to go. I think the thing that worked best for her is just consistency. Don't get me wrong she still is not totally potty trained and if we are not watching her 24/7 she will go where ever she pleases. But don't give up just stick to and keep at she will learn eventually.
