The key is patience. Most dogs actually prefer to have another dog around. Just tell your friends to be careful at first to not leave them unsupervised just in case the older dog is aggressive. None of mine are, so I don't worry about them actually hurting the little guys, but they will grouse at them if they want to keep them in line. 
I'm sure it will work out for them. I hope they decide to stick it out. |
