Thanks for asking. yes, they are secured with velcro. it is a 1-1 1/2 inch strip and holds real securly. If your dog is a larger size and you are worried, I do all mine custom so I can always add another inch and make a real wide band of velcro.
Trixie can wear her's for days straight. Ok- so I don't always take off her cozy ones. :P she plays with the big dogs (Cocker and Lab) and my two boys and it is still soo secure when I try to take it off. I hope this helps. I would always be wiling to make one and if It doesn't work for you I'll take it back.
