I agree with you on bird of prey. Living on the Mississippi River we have all kinds of birds that feed on small animals....plus other little critters that roam the country side. We keep a very close eye on our yorkies when they go outside. We have a wood privacy fence around the back yard and that helps keep out the majority of outsiders. Of course the eagles and the hawks like little things and we have to keep a constant eye out for them. This past weekend we had the yearly migration of pelicans going north. They stayed for several days and then left. They were so pretty.
