I clean Twinkie's ears everytime she has a bath (so once a week). After her bath, while she is still wet I drop the cleaner down her ear canal and fold her ear down & smush it around, then I wipe them with a cotton ball. This way her ears are always clean & if you do it when they are wet, then all the cleaner that they shake out of their ears will get dried with the hair dryer.
