my 2 pups 5 mo now have always slep in a crate at night. when they whine i know they need to potty. I talk them in the bathroom where i have a pad. they potty rigght away and I take them right away back to the crate. they don't cry again until time to potty again. most of the time it isn't until morning. watch the food and water in the evenings to help control how many times they go. mine might be different having 2 adults that sleep with us. but they all know what time is bed time. they tell me. when they are totally warn out they sleep real good. they have even refused to play past 9:30 most of the time. I wish my human kids had been that precise. LOL
