A) smacking his snout won't work. I've known people to do that to all sorts of dogs and that just makes the dog whine, yelp, or bark from the smacking.
b) Holding the snout doens't work. I try that on Mattie when we are in bed at night cuddling, hubby comes upstairs and opens the door, and Mattie goes crazy. I grab hold of him and try to gently hold his mouth closed but it doesn't work at all.
3) Mattie barks at everything too. You blink wrong and he'll bark. He barks all the time, except when he is at the back door and has to go to the bathroom!!

this is part of owning a Yorkie. Having the patience to deal with the barking. This is what they do. It's the best thing they are good at, outside of giving us loads of joy and love.
