The only thing I would think about the ears - and "bad breeding" is that it is more desirable and closer to standard to have a Yorkie with smaller ears. But being real particular about this should matter only to a person who might want to show their dog - or breed dogs that could be shown.
The size of a Yorkie's ears is quite apparent when they are very young. My 8-week-old pup had "huge" ears - and though he has grown into them somewhat, they are still very large....and they stand "straight up." He looks like a "little coyote" to me at times.....cute cute cute!!!
I certainly wouldn't go so far as to consider this "bad breeding." Don't we all know how different our little Yorkies look - different sizes, different colors, different ears (some up, some down, some small, some big), etc. etc. etc.
If you look at the pictures of Yorkies on YorkieTalk - you'll see all different sized ears. And, all these dogs are cute, wonderful pets.
