Mandy and Jack are 1 year old now and I still block off areas. They have access to the kitchen and family room. They are crated at night and if I am not home. However I trained mine to go outside since I had them and once in a great while they will have an accident if they are not feeling well. Jack was fixed at 6 months and never marked Mandy was not fixed until recently. I would say try the outdoor method about every hour. I know that seems like alot but if you want to keep him, I would say it would be worth your while. I also have bells that they ring by each door. Jack uses it but Mandy doesn't. They say that its usually the owner that is at fault and I believe it because every time They have had accidents is because I was not on the ball. There is also some good training websites. Good luck I know its difficult and frustrating.
