That's what I did wrong...I like the Butterfly look and where that big arrow is where I cut too much ON THE BACK of the ear....and all that fan hair is gone...

I read it says to cut in a V shape.... but I just shave about the top third of the ear........once her hair really grows then you can see where you want the 'butterfly' hair to be and what you want trimmed....

I'm always doing little trims with sizzors....and you can shape the hair with little sizzors rather than cut the long pieces...just to even them up..it keeps those long pieces neater till the all grow in...

but for just ears...I do front AND back - top third of the ear...
