I agree, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but im sorry to say that any dog or kid can be as beautiful or good looking as can be, if they dont have a nice personality than i cant call them cute!
A kid or dog thats less attractive, but is loving with a stunning personality, DONT need the LOOKS to be called CUTE, thats just MO
