Default Trachea Collapse

I have a 8 month old female who has been diagnosed with a collapsed trachea and pneumonia. She has a goose honking cough at times and also a hairball hacking cough. Can anyone who has had the unfortunate experience of this disease tell me if the that awful hairball hacking cough is trachea related or is it symptoms of pneumonia. I hoping once the pneumonia will go away that hacking cough will too. She has been on the antibodic Baytril. Anyone have experience with it? It seems to be slow going.
