I don't mind people using abbreviations - but I would certainly appreciate it if they would use the "whole term" the first time - and use the abbreviation after that throughout the rest of the post.

And - if you ever look at text messaging lists - a lot of the abbreviations can mean 50 different things - and sometimes even the context of the post doesn't make it clear.

I'll bet that a lot of you don't realize how many of us don't "text message," and more often than not, don't have a clue what some of you are talking about.

And - not often, but occasionally, some posts have so many abbreviations that I don't even attempt to figure them out -- I just go to the next post.

Anyway - that's the way I have to read posts - just skip the ones that I don't understand. ------ and, yes, of course, I am beginning to learn what some of them mean. E-mails and here are the only places I am ever exposed to this.
