If she's 3 and still healthy I wouldn't worry about it. Anyone can get akc papers. It's not hard at all. They do have stipulations but you'd be surprised at the people that get around those. Just cause your dog is akc doesn't mean anything more than that. Thats why when purchasing a pet you should see their pedigree, buy from a breeder that knows her line and will guarantee her dog. But not everyone knows this and it's not their fault that they don't. Thats why it's so important for everyone to educate anyone they know that is planning on buying a pet. This site is excellent at that..I wish it was mandatory that pet owners go to a place like this before they buy a pet.
