As many have said before, I think that you should decide NOW to either paper train or crate train and do that from the very beginning!!!!! We crate-trained Hobbs, and although it was tough at first, it has been the best decision. He loves his crate now. We can put him in the crate to travel, take him to a friend's house, have company over, etc. Start out right when you get him by putting him in the crate for a hour at a time. By the time you start school, he will definately be able to stay in there for at least 2 hours!! There are many many websites on crate training. Try doing an Internet search if you are interested in crate training.
OR, if you decide to paper train, just block the puppy off in a bathroom/kitchen/hallway/wherever, put a wee wee pad down, and he can stay in there for hours at a time!! Whatever works best for your lifestyle, but don't switch up potty training techniques on the little guy! He/She will get confused! |
