Animal Smiley 019 Crying in the car

Hi, I have a question about the behaviour of my yorkie (8 months now). Whenever we take him with us in the car, he sits on the backseat with his harness attached to the safetybelt. After we've been driving for a few minutes, he will start crying very loudly and won't stop whatever we do or say to him.
It's not like he's afraid, he even likes to go to the car when we walk by it. Also his tail is up during the trip. Taking him on the passengers lap doesn't help.
His crying sounds like he his beaten to death
After we arrive everything is fine again. What do you guys think is going on in his mind?
Anyone has a simular experience?
