I agree, those qualities are important when one is trying to find a breeder but they are qualities that a lot of breeders in different categories might possess. Would that be enough? Would you deal with a BYB that had those qualities?
I posted this poll because of the l o n g thread of comments about breeding. I wondered if we were all on the same page regarding who should breed, we just called different breeders by different names. (which is why I posted a particular chart) All of the info I read describes BYB the same. Lack of knowledge (or concern) about the breed standard, and lack of knowledge of the the lines they are mixing. Once someone researches and takes steps to control quality breeding they fall out of that category and move on to being closer to a Hobby Breeder.
