This has been a confusing topic for me as well. I would welcome any advice as to what is the best food for yorkies.
My 1st yorkie isn't a very good eater. Since he eats so little, I didn't care about the expense, I just wanted a premium food with all of the vitamins/nutrients that he would eat. I started with Nutro Ultra Choice. He liked the Puppy formula. However, when it was time to switch him to adult food, he didn't like Nutro's Adult formula. I then switched to Natural Balance which he liked and would eat. He was on this for awhile. Then, I had gotten some recommendations from a local pet food store and from his daycare that Innova Evo was an even better food than the Natural Balance. So, I switched to Innova Evo, which he also liked.
My 2nd yorkie's breeder feeds Iams to her dogs. So, when I brought him home, I continued to feed him Iams. It was difficult to feed each dog a different food as they tried to eat each other's food. My 1st yorkie's stomach couldn't handle it. I just didn't know which food was causing the issue or if it was from the combination. So, I started feeding both dogs Iams. They both are doing well and they like it.
