Any chance this is where he got his rabies shot? I see lots of dogs with little bald spots where they got their vaccinations. Maybe about 3/4" to 1" circle. Usually the skin is also darkened. Sometimes the hair has grown back but is a different color (lighter or darker). My female has a lump on the back of her right leg and I took her into the vet and he confirmed that it was right where he injected her. A week or so later I noticed the skin had darkened and fur fallen out. He said it is a reaction to the rabies shot. I am really bummed about it but grateful it is not on her shoulder where it would be noticeable.
