When looking at Abbie's litter, all the pups were friendly, outgoing and confident; but Abbie kept coming up to me. One little girl would lay on my husband's shoe everytime he stood still. How hard was she to leave behind!? Well, since we were shopping for ME, we left with Abigail. As far as personality, I can't speak with experience - since she's only 4months old, and my first experience with Yorkies. But, she has (so far) proved to be warm, affectionate and tender-hearted. She gets very concerned if we make any noise like we're hurting. You know, middle-aged creaking of knees, etc.
So, maybe females change when they hit puberty? lol I dunno - but, I sure hope not!
