This actually happened to me with my uncle's dog. He is the sweetest dog and never bit anyone...but one day I can home (when I was living with my parents). Psilo was over there. I came in the door and went downstairs. He must have forgotten who I was b/c he hid between the chair and end table. I went to pet him on the head, and he jumped up and bit (not hard, but just wrapped his teeth around my hand, but didn't break any skin). I guess that was his way of protecting my mom and warning me that if I try anything slick again, I was really going to get bit.
