It is very possible. Our oldest female and male are from two different litters in no way related. Both had parents that were 4-4.5 pounds. Our female is 8 pounds and the male is 11 pounds. So yes, very possible. I might add, they have made puppies together ranging from 4.5 pounds to 10 pounds, although the majority have been in the smaller range.
