Absolutely! There are many businesses, including ones I've dealt with personally, that will tack on huge dollar amounts in their shipping fees. I became incredibly aware of this once I opened my own business and saw what it truly costs to ship something. Yes, you are correct, the liquids can be incredibly heavy, especially the gallon sizes BUT all my products that can fit in the flat rate priority mail box will be shipped in that. I could stuff 12 pounds of liquids in there if need be and my customers will only have to pay the flat rate of $8.10. I always weigh my items and charge exact door to door UNLESS the flat rate box is cheaper. If the charge is less, door to door, than the flat rate, that is what they get charged. If it's more, it goes in the flat rate box and they actually save a TON of money on shipping. I eat the shipping costs that I have to pay to get the items from CC. I don't always order over their free shipping amount as I do so much business with them that they allow me to buy 1/2 cases. I also don't tack on any "handling" fees for my time of taking boxes to the post office and standing in line. I run a business and that is what you do when you run a business. My customers should not have to foot the bill for my time. I don't tack on extra money to cover my ink cartridge in my printer for printing out shipping labels or my costs for paper.

No business was name directly, but it is a fact that many online businesses charge way more than they should for shipping in order to make their profit even higher.
