I agree that you should just keep her with you. But, be careful that you don't leave her in the apartment when you aren't there. Yes, they can't evict you, but what if they took her to the humane society or something. Even if it wasn't legal to do so, I could just see someone doing something like that. So, keep her with you at all times and I think she will be fine.
If not, then just know that at least you know she is safe if she is with your parents. Keep us posted....
