I think by standard size I think they mean larger size around 10 inches or so. My two are larger 10/11 inches. My older one came from tiny yorkies up to 7" so he was a throw back to the original yorkies. I read somewhere in a yorkie book that they used to be larger like my size when they were originally bred for ratting.
