 Microchipping.....
Do most people who find a dog even consider that it might be microchipped?
I asked most of the people I work with - regular people - none of them had their dogs microchipped and didn't know much about it and had never considered it --- plus if they found a stray - they wouldn't even think that it might be microchipped - and wouldn't know where to go or how to find out if they did..... They all said they might call the dog pound and would watch the papers for "lost dogs."

We all thought - wouldn't it be wonderful - if the newspaper - right after the section titled "Lost Pets" stated:
The pet you found may be microchipped - You can find out at your local animal shelter.
And -- then go on to list the people looking for their pets...
We are considering asking our newpaper to include this information as a public service......
