I am not a breeder, but when I was looking for a puppy, I would try to turn the pups over on their backs for a belly rub. That shows that they would be submissive. Stewie turned over right away and enjoyed it. Another pup from a diff litter that the breeder was keeping bit me when I did it that to him.
