When I read your post, the first thought that came to mind was, please, oh, please, let her research for that entire year about the real possibilities and probabilities of problems that can cause death to a beloved family pet. If you search out and read posts on these Yorkie forums you will see a lot of info that will help you make a learned, educated decision about breeding your pet..First of all, the size of the female needs to be such that she will not be permanently injured by the pregnancy. The weight of the sire is somewhat important, but you have to look back many generations of ancestors as that is where the characteristics will be drawn from. Dam could have 3 tinies and free-whelp; or 1 huge puppy and need a section.
Find a good experienced mentor who can start preparing you to make what could be the most important decision concerning your bitch and her life.
