Locally I can find an average stud for about $200. For a stud with better lines I can find one around 250-300. And for the tiny stud with exceltent champion lines I can find them between the 300-400 range. Now I do live in Idaho, and our community is used to not paying an arm and a leg for anything. If someone were to try and charge the price of a puppy for a stud fee they would be laughed out of the room. Demand for quality puppies here is high, before Bridget even had a solid number count on puppies, I had a list of people that were willing to buy her babies. I actully could have sold far more than what she had.
Sorry rambling here, I guess my point is, unless you are trading puppy for puppy I would not do pick of the litter. I am doing this, trading my male for another male of equal quality. But everyone else is buying the babies.
