Brush his teeth in the meantime with Novaldent, and floss them, (I know, sounds like a lot of trouble but will cut down on doggie breath and bacteria) and he MAY lose them on his own, if not, by no more than a year or so, you'll need to have the vet re-evaluate him, he may be able to quickly pull them in the office w/out anesthesia (just like a kids tooth) or the root may be so deep he'll have to be put under again, but will be a good time for a tooth cleaning.

I waited on one of mine until I was SURE she wasn't going to have to have a C-section to have ONE canine pulled, and by the time she had her puppies, she'd lost it on her own...she was 18 months.. like you I didn't want to put her under more times than necissary. Fortunately no c-section (I'm a worry wart!) and no teeth pulling necissary.. now they are weaned, she needs a dental from eating puppy poo, SHEW!
