Oh goodness, I hope it is not something terrible. Paddy had a little hernia once because she ran across hardwood, slid into the door and tore her inner leg muscle. It was soft and "gushy"...is Gracie's lump like that? I would think it a strange location near the ribcage though. Your vet may need to examine it and/or test it. Watch it and see if it gets any bigger. Keep us posted...
