mg: I just found out last night that a friend of mine who brings her dog over about once a week to our house has her dog, Philly, in the vet. now being treated for Parvo. I am a nervous wreck. I called my vet. this morning and explained the situation and that I could bring my dogs in tomorrow morning to get checked out. They looked over Jasmine's records and said she would be fine since she just had a vaccination last June. Jake on the other hand is the one to worry about. The vet. asked me to have Jake at his office as soon as possible...My sister had him there in 15 minutes. He was given a parvo booster and has to take three more every three weeks now that he has been exposed to it. The sick dog has been in my yard and all over my house. I had no idea it takes six months for the virus to disappear. Jake seems fine and I hope I am blessed enough that he stays well. From now on, I will not allow people to bring their dogs over unless they have been fully vaccinated!!!
