You are attempting the hardest thing you will ever do! But YOU CAN DO IT! My son who was about 12 at the time asked me why I smoked. I told him I liked it. He said "don't you know it will kill you"...so he asked me to quit and I did...Cold Turkey, no patches no nothing. It was murder. I had smoked for 15 years and was up to almost two packs a day. I could not get out of bed in the morning til I had a cigarette. So about three months later, I was out of town with a gal friend of mine who smoked and I bummed one...it was not that great. About 3 months after that, I smoked another one and got sick as a dog...never touched another one, but I craved them for a good 5 years. There are times today that I could pick one up and smoke it but I don't. The smell of them in someones house or to pass by someone smoking makes me kind of queasy...but I love the smell of one when it is first lit up...does that make sense??? Oh and the little boy who asked me to quit is now 23....and smoking! I am so mad at him. Good luck...just keep reminding yourself that this is something you really want to do...that you need to do...do it for yourself and you will be glad you did! Keep us posted on your progress. |
