I quit after about 4 years....nothing compared to your 23. Best I can remember, it was only bad for the first 2-3 weeks...and I went cold turkey with it. During that time I found I only really craved when I was driving by myself, or extremely bored, so I would find something enjoyable to constantly occupy myself.
I still get the urge every once in a blue moon when I am extremely upset/mad or when (about once a year) I get a few in me. I'll smoke one, but at this point, it is so nasty to me that it literally makes me sick and kills the urge.
Also, when the craving came up, I would start listing off the negative aspects (it can kill you, think of what the family would have to go through, it smells, cost alot of money, etc) vs the pros (because I like it). Really seemed selfish and silly to me.

You can do it! Just hang in there and be tough! You'll be so glad you did it!
