we have a bird sanctuary behind our street and it has water sources. after we moved here the lady next door came over and said she noticed that i had a small dog and wanted to warn me. apparently she had two small dogs killed by snakes coming out of there. so all last year we only took her out on the leash (we only ever found 4 snakes in the yard and they were small). now that the fence is fixed we give her (and the newbie) more freedom to wonder around in the back yard. well it is getting warm so they will be coming out again. i have found something at lowes called snake away. you put it around the area you do not want them to come into. has anyone ever used this stuff to know if it works or even safe to use with small dogs in the yard. i would only put it on the outside of the fence so no chance to eat it, but kinda wondering if that is close enough for them to inhale it, being so close to the ground.
