I will tell you for sure that my dogs have always been discouraged from doing this --- people's legs, arms, etc. In fact, I think only one of them did it once and has never done it again. This isn't very cute when you have company. Actually, I don't think it's very cute anyway.
They do have a stuffed animal that they think they are in love with. I tolerate this a little better, but believe me, it is quickly removed whenever I have friends coming over.
