Sometimes it helps bring them out of a seizure faster by talking to them and petting them, it calms them down. I have had a couple dogs that had seizures their whole lives from head trauma, they can sense it is coming, and always seek us out to be near us when it is about to happen. As others have said here, keep them somewhere safe so they don't fall off something and get hurt worse, or bang around. Sometimes they will try to stand when they aren't ready yet, and fall down. If it were from head trauma I would tell you that if they happen more than once or twice a week, or last for more than 20 minutes, you might need to medicate them, but since it was from hypoglycemia it shouldn't happen that often since you know what caused it and how to prevent it. |
