This is called a false pregnancy or pseudo (sp) pregnancy and it does happen. Sometimes even if there was no attempt at breeding. I am not sure of all the specifics - I just know it can happen. I am not sure if there is anything that can be done - the only thing I would worry about is watching for infection and maybe if she could have problems with her teats if she has a lot of milk and no way to release it.
