I wish I had some answers for you. I hope someone can help you on this. Does he have a crate, or a 'den' that he can feel secure in? That's the only thing that I can think of to help with this. Maybe if you get him a crate and put toys and blanks a shirt with your smell, water and food, and shut him in there it would give him a sense of security while you are gone.
