Amen. I would run from that vet for sure. I had a bit of a chuckle when I read what you said about knees....I have a 14 year old that has knees like that. He is quite spry and loves to play fetch...quite charming....but, I often cringe watching those knees popping in and out. He is fine and just keeps on trucking!
