Default Wooly coated, what hairstyle

I’m a groomer, longtime, and got a rescue yorkie who was used for breeding. She appeared to have silk coat at the time I adopted her but she was also in very poor condition.
Her coat exploded over the next several months . My intention was to grow her into show coat for fun, as I had a client in full coat and she was gorgeous.

my yorkie developed thick wooly hair especially on her legs. The longer I try to grow them, the more massive and fluffy they get. The hair doesnt like straight and down, it goes out and up, fluffy like a poodle!

The hair on her head/face/back is thick, will wave when damp, but I can blow it straight and it looks nice.

Currently she is in a short summer cut, as she is just miserable in the heat in full coat. She did look lovely with long topknot, not delicate like showyorkies, but it was lovely.

I find the typical ‘westie’ style puppy cuts monotonous. She did not look good in a butterfly trim either.
What do you all do with woolly coats? Especially conformation/showpeople? do you ever have one in wooly coat you maintain long? Any special products? Or techniques? IGroom seems to keep it at its most well behaved.
Thanks.
