My princess was the most energetic and welcoming dog I knew, everyone loved her for her bullying persona. This was definitely unforeseen and it hurt us all alot. If only first time pet owners came with a manual.

Nevertheless, I wont dwell on what could have been or where we went wrong. She was loved and spoiled and thats whats important. Moving forward, Im taking all the necessary precautions with her brother, Max. As per his new vet, his bloodwork came back good. Im still trying to understand bloodwork results myself although his BUN level is at 40, his creatine and phosphorus are normal.

Yesterday, he had a dental scaling and had 3 more teeth pulled. Ive been thinking about switching him to more of a wet food now that he has less teeth but its been a little difficult to find one. He's always been a picky eater. I recently introduced salmon oil to his meal. He's 9yrs old so not sure if I should also look into supplements or anything of that extent. Any suggestions around food and supplements would be appreciated.

Thank you xoxo
I am so very sorry for your loss.

You are correct...there is no sense looking back. You loved her and did your bast with what you knew and honestly even if you knew more, renal disease can be wicked.

Sounds like Mia was your typical little terrier. I love their spunky ways! May her wonderful memories help to heal.

Happy you found a vet for Max. It's hard when they are picky eaters....ast least he is healthy so you don't have to worry about food restrictions. If you are feeding a good dog food, supplements are not needed. I stick with Royal Canin products because I trust the company. For one of mine with only a few teeth left, I used the RC Mature Adult canned. She loves it as long as it is heated in the microwave for about 10 seconds. lol

I have a pup who has multiple medical issues. For her I have to switch from canned to kibble. I put water in the kibble and let it sit a bt to soften. Sometimes I put just a bit of chicken baby food on it. I have to play around with options for her every few weeks or so. You just have to see what works for them.
