Yes, I have it! After years of going through an unimaginable amount of money on my pets, I finally got it a few years ago and have to say it is at the top of my list of the best things I have done in my life. It gives me peace of mind.
I compared the top rated insurance plans, and ended up choosing Pets Best. I have had no issues with them and find that I worry less now when one is ill. One of mine became very ill last year and ended up with a cancer diagnosis. The cost of care was insane as vet costs are rising these days. My insurance paid 90% of her bills over the $500 per pet deductible.
I recently helped someone in California get insurance for her yorkie. The premium was high. Some areas of the country are higher than others.
I would suggest googling pet insurance comparisons for 2024 and go to the top ones' websites. They all have an online calculator that you can use to enter the details of your pet. Age, sex, etc. They will give you an estimate of monthly premiums.
Two things to think about
:
1. some companies have a $500 deductible per incident. I would avoid that
2. the other is the amount they cover per year ..... some are unlimited which is what I have.
If you end up with a pup with a major illness, you don't want a cap on coverage. Veterinary care is becoming more and more expensive .
If you have specific questions, let me know. I can try to help out.
Oh...and another thing. I only get illness and accidental coverage. The wellness coverage is basically just taking your money and giving it back.
