Default Leg Brace after Torn ACL

Our baby was diagonosed about a month ago (in Canada - good vet) with a torn ACL. The vet told us not to cancel our (long) vacation and head home because the damage was done and he couldn't hurt it anymore. We started him on some daily pain medication and he seemed OK - still playful at times and was getting around fine (in our motorhome) on mostly 3 legs. We did change our schedule and came home about 30 days early. In the past week, we have noticed that he is walking on it (left hind leg) - not putting his full weight down, but definitely using it! When he runs, he picks it up. We, of course, don't let him go up or down stairs and not for walks outside. We had planned surgery, but since he has early stages of kidney disease, the surgeon required a full blood work to be done. Well, that ruled him out - not eligible for surgery (he is 11 1/2 years old - our last Yorkie lived to be 14 1/2). Has anyone used a knee/leg brace for their baby in a similar situation? That appears to be an option! If so, what brand/type? Thanks!
