First, he probably does have some soreness in his throat/larynx/trachea. If you are really concerned, have your vet check him out..
Secondly (and I do not intend to be mean) but why are you trying to teach him to spin? Does he already know, sit, stay, come, down and other really important commands?
I tried teaching tricks when I got my first Yorkie and a very wise person pointed out to me that I was teaching "Cute Tricks" and not one thing that will make her safer or more disciplined. She said there was always time to teach tricks after I had a safe and trained dog. So, I am passing that advice on
