Luxating patella isn’t a disability and really isn’t supposed to cause pain. Fixing LP in an adult dog isn’t a great idea because there is already wear and tear on the CCL while can tear and require another surgery. These are rough surgeries to recover from. If the CCL tears then I would recommend fixing the knee at the same time. Many many dogs live perfect healthy happy lives with high grade LP and never have issues.
