I was panicking!! So i had this bag of trail mix. Some took a spill so worked quickly to pick them all up off the floor but as i am scrambling to get them picked up I see that Elli had found some and is scarfing some up, she is quick. She loves all foods, you name it, lentils , radishes, carrots, chickpeas, anything. So i get it all picked up then am thinking, shoootttt ( but a different word),,,,raisins??? As most trail mixes do have raisins. I knew grapes were toxic so thought surly raisins are too. Instead of taking time to look it up i quick do an Alexa question to see if raisins are bad for dogs and of course she does state grapes and raisins are highly toxic and even one or two could be fatal. OMG, i am panicking, i pick her up, call my vet, they are getting info to bring her in quickly to induce vomiting. They are also concerned with her being just a little over 3 lbs. I am about to loose my mind, and… as i am going through all the motions with the vets staff I am also reading the ingredients of the trail mix…. Cranberries!!! NO raisins!!! Oh my heart!!! My point is.. That sure made me hyper aware of what foods are toxic to dogs and to keep a list near by and know them. Long story short, No raisins will come into my home and i will be more aware of the foods that are toxic. This experience taught me that. Yesss!! Only one or two tiny little raisins or grapes can be fatal and start to shut down the kidneys. One relived mama here |
