Teddy will come around, he's terrorized because puppies don't smell like a dog. They are bouncing balls with sharp teeth to Teddy. It could take up to 2 months before Teddy will play with the baby. Make sure Teddy has a safe place where puppy can't get him. My now passed girls would stay on high grounds (the sofa) when I would bring home a new baby. They will become BFF.

Make sure Teddy is the first for every thing, the first to be greeted when you come home, the first to get a treat, the first to get his food bowl, etc.

Never leave the two together unsupervised.

Teddy will be just fine, he will come around in his own time.
Thank you. Teddy has seperation anxiety and a fear/avoidant personality.

I'm trying to do very gentle exposure therapy with him. I did not, for one minute, think there would be an issue because he is the most friendly, confident dog when we're out meeting/greeting other dogs. But, with this puppy, he won't give it eye contact, won't engage and barks with whale eye at the side of his head from a distance.

It's not even been 24 hours and I know it's a process.....
