Default The loss of a friend and our new " almost" Yorkie

I have not posted in a while. Unfortunately we lost our rescue Yorkie Bella about a month ago. She was rescued from a drug raid/ meth lab house and was not a well bred little girl. She was supposed to be a short term foster but as the vet gave her only about 8 months to live due to kidney damage ( due to the drug fumes and a very likely inbreeding) - and she could not be spayed due to the high risk of surgery for her ... she stayed with us. She beat the odds and lived 7 happy years with us ... with many health challenges but with mostly good quality of life. She ultimately passed due to a Pyometra and sepsis ( surgery again not an option for her ... for all those who are on the fence about spaying their baby - this is what can happen ... :-( ) . We miss our little girl terribly but we think she had the best possible life and she was loved every minute ...

As there is now a yorkie sized hole in our life and pack ... we have decided to adopt again ... a little girl who is ... about 3/4 yorkie - a little Morkie who is at the moment only 6 weeks old. We cannot wait to bring her home. We visited her yesterday and she was so very sweet and cuddly. I seem to always fall for the shy ones - maybe due to the many mill puppies I fostered... Already in love with the little lady. We are still looking for names ... maybe Yuki ... And we are already searching for puppy Kindergarten classes that can accommodate a pint sized puppy ... not the easiest in a state where most pups are working breeds and LARGE. Better get some sleep before we have a toddler again ;-)
